My, where has the time gone? Our twins are growing up faster than we could have ever imagined. They are the loves of our life, someone who gets us up every morning with a smile on our face. It seems as if Kaden and Kyle are learning something new each and everyday... and that's why we're (meaning I lol) consrantly taking pix of our twins from morning to night, wondering if fthey might look different the next day. Time surely does run by fast, when you're busy having your hands full and having fun. No, of course not being a parent is not just fun and games. We will, and DO provide for our children with not only a roof over their heads, but with LOVE and CARE. That's what being a parent is all about.
Comfort also comes within being a parent, and making sure your child is well, healthy, having fun, and getting an education.
Just a little thought that was mind blowing to me. So anyways... should we get to the six week update?! :) Just Monday, Kaden and Kyle seemed to have a little cough but then when the day was slowly coming to an end, their cough was taking turns toward the worst so we had to bring our boys to our doctor. The Dr. said that they seemed to have a little bit of a fever, so Kaden and Kyle stayed for the night at the hospital. While we were there, we did a miner checkup (you know, sorta like physical checkup.) Both twins gained about 3ish 4lbs since birth, which was a good thing b/c they were tiny newborns! They each grew about 1 1/2 inches since birth. Milestones :) 1. Kyle was TRYING so so so hard to roll over! It's the cutest little thing ever! 2. Kaden is trying to lift his head up in glancing position (with his arm on the mat) but he ends up falling on the mat. Like I said.. cutest little thing ever! My both babies! 3. Both babies' first time visiting great aunt Shelly! I don't think they like her though, lol ;)

Waiting for the results....
Hi guys! This week, this post is by me, Ashlyn! :) Long time and no talk!
Before I get into anything, I wanna tell you guys something. I woke up with a headache, nausea, and dizziness. I mean.. could it be? Could I, Aahlyn Jane Shafer possibly be PREGNANT again? It isn't possible correct? I mean.. I just had my twins not even six weeks ago. And Kyson and I DIDN'T even have sex since the moment Kaden and Kyle were born. It's WAY to early to do that.
I'm NOT, let me repeat NOT with any other guy other than Kyson. Why would I do such a thing? Even thinking about this makes my head ache. I hope Kyson and I can make this work, no matter what happens. And I KNOW I haven't been with any other guy.
So to clear all my thoughts and confusion, I went to the hospital to get a pregnancy test and all of that. You know... same thing that I had to do about 10 months ago?! I got an ultrasound done, but so far they don't see anything. Good sign so far, but we still have to wait for all the other results to come back by next week.
Now Kyson and I have to wait for the results to come, hoping and praying I'm not pregnant. And IF I am, there's NO doubt in my mind the baby's not Kyson's. Some relevant questions I got when I came home from the hospital was "Are you going to abort the baby if you're pregnant?"
WHY on my life would I abort this baby (IF I was pregnant) if I didn't abort Kaden and Kyle? We, as a whole family, are strong believers that EVERY child from deserves a chance, and they are blessings no matter what. Teen parents, young parents, 30-something parents... who cares?? It's the love, care, and providness that counts. Not anything else. People NEED to get that through their heads. Why are people so critical about teen parents? Yeah, some of us don't take care of their kids but most of us do... providing and suffering for our kids each and every day... just like YOU guys do. We're human too, you know. You can mess with me, but definitely not my family. I'll deal with you... words can't bring me down. Bring me down, but my family doesn't have to suffer. I'll do anything for my family. Like I said... we're human. We eat, drink, learn, (etc) every single day. But most of all, we have feelings. And we should all respect each others' feelings.

Time really does go by super fast...
Where have the time went? Feels like yesterday when Kaden and Kyle were born and now... they're three weeks old! .. 4 weeks old in two days!! CRAZY. I never thought time would go by this fast. I mean, I know that I did but this is just MIND BLOWING. My twins are almost one month old!! AAAHHH!!
This week's milestones? Kyle almost smiled! That's going to make my day. Kaden almost rolled over... sort of. Gotta make momma proud!
Change in sleep schedule? No. Not much. Kaden and Kyle still wake up in the middle of the night every 2 hours for their feeding!! Not much sleep, but it's a great feeling to see our boys smile when they see us. Makes our day.. rather night ha ha ha!
Go anywhere special? Yes. The weather's actually been really nice this week and so we as the whole family went to the pond. It was the twins' first time and they seemed to like it.
Notice in what twins are allergic to? No, not yet. They've only had breast feedings and occasional once in a while bottle feeding. Too early to tell so far.
Seemed to be interested in? When daddy comes home! Their eyes get so big and they squeal with joy. The cutest thing ever(:
Met any babies? Yes, we had a high school renunion and one of our closest friend (all the way back since day care!) had a little 2 month old baby girl. Kaden and Kyle seems to have a crush on her, lol(:
Favorite part of the day? Tummy time! They don't seem to know quite what's going on yet but they're always picking at each other when they're on they mat. Finally noticed each other!
Pet peeves about the other baby? None... so far. They haven't really noticed each other until tummy time. Hopefully they can stay as BFFs you know?
Anything else?
1. Kaden's starting to touch his bottle when ever he's not breast feeding (which is rarely) then puts his hand back down.
2. Kyle sort of noticed his hands... but he really could care less lol
Tune in for weekly twin updates! I'm thinking of making a page for this, so leave your comments and requests below! Thank you all.
*** Follow me on Twitter for live updates! So sorry I haven't been on for a while, I was a busy with my twins, spending time with my family, helping them out, and dealing with family drama! :(

The story behind our family
July 19thHi, I'm Ashley Shafer and I was raised in Massachusetts. My life growing up, I always loved babies, and wanted a baby when I was older. But I never thought it would happen to me so soon. It was my first year in College, when I found out I was pregnant. At the time, I didn't know I was pregnant with twins but I did know who the daddy was. Kyson was the only one I did it with. I was scared as heck to tell him that I was pregnant. More important, my parents. They trusted me not to have sex with him but something just over came me. The moment when I told Kyson we had to talk, he thought I was going to break up with him. Seriously... that was the one time that I saw him break down like that. Luckily to my surprise, when I told him I was pregnant, he was on his knees and asked me to marry him. I didn't even think about getting married yet, but I guess he was. Since he was the man of my dreams, and we've been friends since like we were three, I knew EVERYTHING about him. I knew that he was a ladies' man, his favorite sport was basketball, that you could trust him if you were his girlfriend.. he wouldn't cheat on whoever the girl was, talks trash about the politics.. yeah! I didn't want to miss the chance of living the rest of my life with him. Of course, in the end, I said yes!
I will not get into much of the details here, but when I told my parents, shockingly, they didn't kicked me out! (Or in that matter make me have an abortion because we're strong believers that every child from God is a blessing). They promised (and did) that they would be by my side throughout my whole journey. However, my parents did have one thing that I had to "swear on my grave". And that was to STAY IN SCHOOL, GET AN EDUCATION, AND PROVIDE FOR MY TWINS. I literally had a freak attack right there on the spot. Not because that I didn't want to, I did. And I know that. But the fact that they thought I didn't know that was ABSURD! My education and my life was one of the things I had swore to do in my life. So I told my parents that and boy, were they relieved! Kyson had told his parents, and I headed over after dinner. Surprisingly, his parents supported us through the whole journey too! And like my parents, his parents gave him the school lecture and he was exactly like me. I guess we both wanted something in our lives to have a bright future.(:
When I was four months pregnant, the doctors decided that I had twins and they looked like both boys. We were in complete awe. Not only did we think we could HANDLE two babies, but the fact that God knew we could handle the twins. So all we could say was "thank you" to the doctors. That night, we had a mini family dinner with Kyson's family and everyone else to celebrate. Then in the middle of the night, I had complained of a fever and my parents told me it was nothing, put an icepack on my head, and to go back to sleep. It would be gone in the morning.Well they were wrong. At around 4am, I checked my temperature of 115 degrees. I told my parents and they drove me to the hospital. The doctor gave me some medicine and told me I had to do a c-section NOW. I was in disbelief. Was this even possible? Isn't this dangerous or something? I looked at my mom for help and she asked the doctor if there was another way to help the twins or for my fever to go down. The doctor told me that there was an ice bath and suddenly, I knew there was a possibility of my twins surviving. I slipped (Well I would've if I wasn't so big already) into the bathing suit. The ice was really cold, and I mean really! After 30 minutes in the ice bath, my fever had only gone down to 112 degrees. I asked for another 30 minutes, and the doctor rolled his eyes. He walked away and I mouthed to my parents "I dunno". The doctor came back with some more medicine, and told me to take a teaspoon of that gross thingy. Kyson came in all the sudden and we kissed. He didn't care if I was sick or not. He just wanted me to be well. I instantly felt better when I was in his arms.My fever only went down to 106 degrees, and they had me stay at the hospital and I would me home the next day.
Other than that, my pregnancy went smoothly. Kyson moved into my parents' house, and his parents moved to the house down the street.
We introduced our beautiful, healthy, twins May 3rd 2012, 40 wks gestion. Baby A (Kaden) was born at 4:09am weighing 6 lbs 6 oz and Baby B (Kyle) was born at 4:30am weighing 6 lbs 3 oz. They have been great additions to our family, and we couldn't we more happier. We truly are blessed and we thank the lord for everything we have in our lives.
